Zoi Litou works as a Special Laboratory Teaching Staff at the Department of Cell Biology and Biophysics at the University of Athens. She holds a BSc in Cell and Molecular Biology (2001) from the Dept. of Biological Sciences, University of Essex, UK. And a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics (2009) from the Dept. of Cell Biology and Biophysics, Faculty of Biology, National & Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Her research activity is focused on computational analysis and prediction algorithms of membrane proteins focusing on the automated recognition and classification of single-spanning membrane proteins, CWPs and GPCRs. She has 9 publications in refereed journals and more than 150 citations.
