Holding four degrees from three different countries, Pavlos is Professor of International Business in the Adam Smith Business School of the University of Glasgow; and, the Lead of the International Business and Entrepreneurship (IBE) Research Cluster. Previously he has served at the Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece and the University of Strathclyde, UK.

His research interests are in international entrepreneurship, international management and international strategy. He has published more than 40 refereed journal articles in leading journals in these areas such as British Journal of Management, Business History, Entrepreneurship and Regional Development, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Environment and Planning, Family Business Review, International Business Review, International Journal of Human Resource Management, International Marketing Review, International Small Business Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Small Business Management, Journal of World Business, Long Range Planning, Management International Review, and Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal.
